Welcome to Edgeware Tennis

Big thanks to Lions Foundation and Southern Trust who have sponsored our new turf courts.

Edgeware Tennis Club was established in 1932 and has a long history of great tennis players.

Edgeware Tennis Club is operated by a friendly and dedicated committee of volunteers and is supported by our growing membership, who offer their energy and expertise from time to time. courtsWe have nine hard courts with four being lit for night time tennis. These courts are used for casual organised tennis, interclub or general usage by the membership. Our members range in age from 3 ½ to 72 years old so we are definitely a club for the whole family with a distinct focus on family and fun. However, for those of us with a competitive spirit we have many interclub teams who travel throughout Christchurch to play competition tennis and we are well known for the strength of our juniors. Our clubroom facilities are spacious and allow for social functions. The grounds are securely fenced which is ideal for toddlers and younger children who have plenty of grassed areas to run around on or simply sit and play in the sandpit while tennis is being played. Contact us through the club or turn up to one of our organised sessions to meet the members and have a hit:

  • Tuesday mornings – 9:30am to 12pm (in winter we start at 10am)
  • Wednesday evenings – 7.00pm to 8.30pm
  • Saturday afternoon – 1.30pm till around 6.00pm
