Below is what you need to know about playing tennis at Edgeware during the COVID-19 alert levels.
Alert Level 1
PHYSICAL DISTANCING: Physical distancing is no longer required.
CONTACT TRACING: Contact tracing posters will be on display to assist you to keep track of your movements.
CLUB ROOMS: No restrictions on when club rooms can be opened.
ORGANISED SOCIAL GAMES: Will continue every Tuesday and Saturday. Sharing of morning an afternoon tea is allowed.
COACHING: No restrictions of coaching.
Alert Level 2
PHYSICAL DISTANCING: Maintain a distance of 2 metres at all times.
CONTACT TRACING: Required for all players, coaches, parents/caregivers, spectators and contractors who enter the club.
CLUB ROOMS: These will only be opened on Tuesdays and Saturdays for organised social tennis. Club rooms will remain CLOSED for coaching and will only be opened at the coach’s discretion.
ORGANISED SOCIAL GAMES: These will continue on Tuesdays and Saturdays for senior social members. Sharing of morning and afternoon tea is NOT allowed.
COACHING: Coaching is permitted following physical distancing guidelines and cleaning of equipment and balls.
Alert Level 3
COURT ACCESS: The committee will determine whether the courts can be safely opened. Court bookings will be mandatory and you will only be able to play with people within your ‘bubble’. You must also leave as soon as you have finished play.
PHYSICAL DISTANCING: Maintain a physical distance of 2 metres between other bubbles at all times.
CONTACT TRACING: Mandatory for all players, coaches, parents/caregivers, spectators and contractors who enter the club.
CLUB ROOMS: The club rooms will remain CLOSED at Level 3.
ORGANISED SOCIAL GAMES: Organised games will NOT be available at Level 3.
COACHING: Coaching is only permitted if the coach is a member of the player’s ‘bubble’.
OTHER: Only bring and use your own equipment (rackets, balls, towel, water bottles, hand sanitiser). Do not touch common surfaces at the club (gates, nets, posts, water taps) and don’t consume food and drink at the club (excludes personal water bottles).
Alert Level 4
The club will remain closed at Alert Level 4. No club activities, coaching or court access will be permitted.
How you can keep yourself safe playing tennis:
- Clean or sanitise your hands upon entry and after touching common surfaces.
- Refrain from touching any surfaces at the courts.
- Try not to touch the nets during play or as you are changing court ends.
- Only bring and use your own equipment (rackets, balls, towel, water bottles, hand sanitiser)
- Clean and disinfect your equipment at home after playing.
- Please stay away from the club if you are unwell.
