Always important for players to also be working on their fitness, conditioning and recovery. In today’s squads I have made my own endurance test (similar to beep test) that is more relatable to tennis players...
Players get rest if they finish before the “cut-off time” plus an additional 15sec. This is usually how long it takes between points.
If they complete a stage, they will get 30sec rest before starting the next one (like a change of ends). Each stage will gradually get quicker so they will need to find a balance between saving their energy but being quick enough so they don’t run out of time. They will have to sprint in the later stages...
The length is roughly the width (and gaps in between) of our 5x hard courts and back.
I just thought I would introduce myself.
My name is Aaron and I have recently taken over club president.
Firstly I would like to thank Mark Fahey for the awesome work he has done for the club over the last year, he has made great progress on the new courts.
My back ground is I started playing tennis at the age of 4 in North Canterbury and carried on playing untill the age of 16 when I had a break for 15 years and decided to join edgeware.
I'm currently still playing and love it.
If you see me come say hi.
We are currently looking for new committee members and would love some parents of players to join the committee.
I'm looking foward to the upcoming season.
The upcoming tennis season is just around the corner, with the club already in preparation for the summer.
We are looking for both Junior and Senior players to join our Interclub teams. If you’re keen to play or learn more drop Nic an email 📧 firstname.lastname@example.org
Edgeware is also holding an informal Interclub Open day for returning and new members on Saturday 22 August from 1pm. This is a great way to get back into tennis, catch up with friends and ask the coach/committee any questions. We look forward to seeing you on court... 🎾
